Ilia Morozov is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, photography, and experimental visual practices.
His work explores liminal states: moments suspended between perception and memory, presence and disappearance, the physical and the imagined. Drawing from urban environments, natural landscapes, digital artifacts, and altered states of attention, Ilia constructs visual spaces where familiar forms begin to shift, dissolve, and reassemble into new relationships.
A significant part of his practice is dedicated to the interaction between light and surface. Through the use of fluorescent pigments and layered color structures, his paintings transform under changing conditions of illumination, revealing hidden dimensions and alternative readings of the image. Light becomes not only a means of visibility, but an active material capable of altering perception itself.
Rather than depicting specific narratives, Ilia creates situations of encounter - spaces where ambiguity, fragility, and instability are allowed to remain unresolved. His works often emerge from the tension between organic and technological systems, between intuitive gesture and constructed image, between the fleeting and the permanent.
Working across different media, he is interested in how images behave at the threshold of transformation: the moment before recognition, the instant after disappearance, and the uncertain territory in between.
