Between Millions: Faces of Faith

Between Millions is a photographic exploration of human presence within one of the largest gatherings on Earth.

Created during Maha Kumbh Mela and Maha Shivaratri in Prayagraj and Varanasi, the project moves beyond the scale of the events themselves. Rather than documenting rituals or spectacles, the photographs focus on fleeting encounters within the crowd: pilgrims and ascetics, workers and police officers, families, children, street dogs, vendors, and strangers whose paths briefly intersect in a shared moment.

The series is built from fragments of observation gathered among millions of people. Individual faces emerge from the collective flow, revealing moments of devotion, exhaustion, curiosity, solitude, celebration, and quiet reflection.

Together, these photographs form a portrait of a temporary world - a human landscape assembled around faith, movement, and the search for meaning.
